Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Softball and baseball season has officially started in Woodward. Max has entered the t-ball ranks and Emily is playing coach pitch softball. The cut off date for summer ball here is rather unusual - May 1. Since Em's birthday is May 3, she missed t-ball last year. So her mom moved her up to coach pitch - she is not too bad, considering she never played before and the rest of the girls have.

This would be a better picture if the ball was not in it :)
Emily is always ready to smile for the camera. Her team won their first game, also.
Here is Max, scoring a run. Of course, everyone scores a run, every inning. I must admit, I love watching him play, but when my kids played ball, yes, even t-ball, if you were out, you were out (and some kids DID strike out in t-ball and even got thrown out at base), they kept score, and all 14 kids on the team did not go to the field at the same time.

Right now, the players all swarm the ball -as you can see, Max was successful in this exercise this time. Hopefully, as the season progresses, they will get a better grasp of their positions even if they have to wear that Texas orange. The fans on the sidelines were some of the cutest kids at the ball park.
Sam wanted me to take his picture, then he put on his "cold" pose. I guess even "Ralph the Dog" gets cold sometimes :D

I am loving Em's uniform, but not Max's! I dread the t-ball phase:) I am hoping Caden stays disinterested...love ralph the dog too. We now have one at our house, also called ralph of course!

I can't believe she is playing coach pitch her first year...you go Emily!! The cut off is May 1st here too, which I find very weird.

I think the "everyone plays" t-ball game may be the death of me!! Plus the fact that Max does not always pay attention, it drives me crazy!!

I'm with Mandy on this one! I can't believe this! It's crazy I think I'm a little to competive!!! So even though I don't have kids playing I know how she feels totally insane!

I've never really been a sports fan - but now I can't wait for my grandchildren to play different sports! What fun!
