A Sammy Story.....

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times - Sammy is one entertaining kid. If he is not Ralph the dog, his horse, Rico, is going everywhere he goes, jumping and eating all around. Sam doesn't just limit himself to Ralph and Rico - sometimes he is a shark, but always a nice one who beats up the other sharks. The other night, during Max's trip to the ER, Sam and I were hanging out. Just us big kids, you know, baby Ben was already in bed. Upon asking "Sam" a question, he replied,"I'm not Sam, I'm Samson!" Being a conscientious Mimi, or more likely annoying Mimi, I pounced on this like chocolate cake! What a great time for a lesson, particularly a Bible lesson. I start expounding on Samson -I painted a picture of Samson in Sam's Sunday School Class so I knew he was at least a little familiar with him. We talked about how God made him strong and how that strength was linked to his long hair. Then we talked about how a devious lady tricked Samson and discovered his secret so she cut his hair! All the while, Sam's big brown eyes were wide - he was taking everything in. I told him that when Samson's hair was cut he got weak and wasn't strong for awhile. He was quiet for a minute - then he asked quietly in a solemn little voice, "Mimi, was it you?" Ha......maybe someday Sam will realize I am really not as old as dirt:D Then I find out, he wasn't being Samson from the Bible, he was being Samson from "The Wild" - it figures!
