Oolagah, Oklahoma

We made our semiannual camping trip over Labor Day weekend. This time we traveled to the eastern side of the state so that branch of the family wouldn't have to make a long trip this time. We had such a nice time. The weather was beautiful, if a little hot during the day, but there was no wind and with so many trees around, you could always find some shade. My wonderful brother and his family came out on Saturday and Sunday. It was so good to see them. They brought their boat and the grandkids loved riding the inner tube, even though on Sunday the only gear that worked was reverse and I think it took a little time to get back to the pier :) I probably went a little over board with the number of pictures posted, but I haven't posted much lately so I thought, why not?

Ben seemed to be eating in a lot of his pictures, but we did discover that when Ben gets cranky - just feed him, it works like a charm. That makes me less cranky also....
Here is Aunt Annie - cheering Ben up also - as you can see baby girl is growing away. I'm ready for them to name her!

"I wonder where the water comes from?"
These two munchkins loved jumping on the bed. It was a safe activity because their "ups" are not very high.
Max is a great big brother - he kept rescuing Ben from wandering off - much to Ben's dismay!
Ella insisted that I take a picture of her "owies" - these "owies" were not very new but she continues to get a lot of mileage out of them.

Emily is showing off her excellent fishing form.
And the lake was full of "fish" -here she snagged one.
After reeling him in I think she decided to throw him back!
The Karn family decided to put the stress test on this lawn chair - as you can see - Jason is never very far from his iphone, gotta check the weather or those football scores.
There was a real nice playground close by - and the kids took full advantage.

Lily is really getting better about having her picture made -she smiled for me all weekend. Here is Ella, being Ella, you know, using the slide in her own special way.
Jason's parents and nephew joined us camping and they just happened to bring a little battery powered motorcycle. Emily thinks she is a motorcycle expert.
Max, getting instructions from Aunt Sally, prepares to race off.

Sam would rather squirt people with a water bottle, rather refreshing on a hot afternoon. The kids think that it is not truly camping if you don't build at least one campfire, doesn't matter if it is 90 degrees at midnight. So, we had a fire, gathered around it, roasted marshmallows, and made smores - a successful evening.
I guess you just have to expect dirty kiddos on a camping trip. Emily is proud of her grubbiness so Aunt Katie suggested to her that she just wait until she got home to bathe. she was suitably appalled, "But Aunt Katie - I've got sand in my panties." I bet she did too!I'll leave you with a goodbye kiss from Cooper - would you just love some sugar from this precious, clean face!

Thank you for the comment! I like the photos of your little "treasures"! I really like a lot of what the Beatles did by the way and the song you talked about is one of my new favorites :D

These pics are really great, although I would like people to know that I did put pants on Ben once in awhile. He is only wearing diapers in most of these pics!
