Sleepovers, Sleeping Bags, and Teeth?

Although it feels like I have been incredibly busy, things have actually been a little slow around here. Bert and Sally went to see "Twilight" Friday night and Emily was going to stay with me - so I decided to also invite Max and Sam. Good time for a sleepover. The grandkids love to come over and they especially love to spend the night. I realize my time for this is limited (they won't always be that excited to spend the night) and I need to take advantage of this. Well, the Cheaps had company so the boys arrived about 9:30 and wouldn't you know, Em was already asleep in her sleeping bag. Yes, they think sleepovers = sleeping bags. The guys threw down their sleeping bags, crawled in, and we watched "Polar Express." Before it was over, Max looked at me and said, "Mimi, I'm not gonna make it" and sure enough, he was out in a couple of minutes. Of course, the four year old was raring to go, finally, he got in my bed and fell asleep about midnight. The next morning everyone wanted something different for breakfast. Well, when the girls were little this would never have flown, but for my grandchildren, I WILL be a short order cook :) The big excitement of the day was when Max bit into his cinnamon roll and out came a tooth , stuck in the bread, no blood or anything! That is my kind of dentistry. Max and Emily absolutely love to sit back and allow someone, anyone really, to do things for them. Sam on the other hand has an independent streak so I included a small series of Sam putting away his sleeping bag.....The two six year olds are fast asleep, the four year old is having issues with his sleeping bag...
Sam finally decided to roll it up....
the bag it fits in is about one third the size of the folded up bag...

and drats! With Sammy, things are never easy - so he just climbed in my bed.

.
Here is the Max's money maker. He really likes to lose teeth, he is saving for a Nintendo DS game. At this rate, he may be toothless, playing a fun game!

Those sleeping bags always frustrate the heck out of me. I can never get them in that tiny bag.

It always amazes me how parents change when they have grandkids, it's an amazing process. Someone should do a study as to how and why that occurs.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

I loved spending the night at my grandparents and my girls loved staying with theirs, but sadly, you're right. Before you know it they will be too big and busy to stay the night.

I know my mom hopes Jaden and Addie never grow tired of spending the night at her house. I think you may be right about Max. He may not have any teeth left before too long!
