Happy Haunting!

I am one of those people who love fall, and I really love Halloween. I know it is not a real popular event for some people there days, but I still love it. The decorations are fun and cute and what could be better than getting to dress up in fun costumes and then get Candy! It's some of my best childhood memories. The kiddoes are big enough to really get into the decorating and costume ideas. We have a great time......

The spiderweb was a combined effort. The grandchildren think we need to decorate for every holiday and they seem to especially love Halloween. I couldn't resist this big spider and her little bitty spider babies - all of the kids were a little scared of her at first, now they LOVE her!
I think our finished doorway looks pretty good, Max really designed the whole thing and we followed his directions.
I also love art and crafts and I am striving to instill some of this into my grandchildren. I am always trying to find little projects that we can do together. Most of them are a little too advanced for us - but we give it a go anyway.
This gingerbread haunted house was not overly challenging - the house came already put together and all that was required was bringing in the designers. These four were happy to answer the call, they were also happy to try to direct each other in the designs. "Direct" is probably too kind a word for their interaction.
Here is the finished product - I know - it's nothing to write home about. But what we lack in ability we make up for in enthusiasm (also nibbling on our project didn't hurt either) The kids were quite pleased with our efforts, to quote Ella, "Mimi, it's perfect!"

Great job!! You are making me want to take off work and get my fall decorations out. I think it is great that you try to find projects they can all work together on. I'm sure it tries your patience but you can tell they are really proud of their finished projects.

What wonderful decorations! Mason is super into pumkins. He thinks if he sees one, we need to buy it. I guess the 6 we have already (that he just "HAD to have, MOM") just wasn't enough! Good work!

That all looks like lots of fun. I don't decorate for EVERY holiday, just the major seasons and Christmas. Maybe when I have grandkids!
