And Now Presenting.....

I must admit, this post takes me back a few years. When the girls were little, everytime they got together with their cousins, it was time for a major production. They would work for ages, planning, producing, getting costumes ready, and finally - after convincing the audience their efforts were going to be fantastic - they would sing, dance, rap, whatever, to their hearts content. Well, the grandchildren have already entered this phase and I love it. I love to see them put their imaginations and creativity to work. They all have their roles, Emily is the director (boss is more like it), Max the comic relief, Sam the star (he takes direction quite well), and Ben is just a character, pretty much going where he wants and doing what he wants. Greg was not always the most willing audience member back in the day, but he seems to be more enthusiastic these days, probably due to the brilliance of his grandchildren :)

Act I - Here Comes the Bunny.....

The resources are a little limited at Pa and Mimi's house, but you work with what you've got. Also, director Emily really wanted a wedding - her cousins (probably Max) wasn't overly excited about that one, so a compromise was in order. I mean we have tuxes a flower girl dress and a bunny suit - we have a play.
The star got frustrated that his "paws" were inhibiting his function - so the play was cut short.

We did, however, manage to get a group shot of the "Bunny Party."

Act II - Frosty the Snowman

We are having a little trouble leaving the Christmas season behind, so we incorporate it into our entertainment. Here "Mel" and "Maggie" are building a "Pillowman" - like I said, no snow so you work with what you've got....
then, when the magic hat is placed on his head, "Frosty" comes to life! He carried off his solo in grand style.
We were then treated to a finale of "Jingle Bells" and "Deck the Halls" (Notice the little "character actor" got fed up and refused to participate in this performance)
That's All Folks!

Very cute! It looks like you've got constant entertainment there at your place! How do I purchase tickets for the next show?

That's too funny. If you have any pics of the girls from their stage days, you should post those!

So cute!! We used to do the same thing when we were little...never as creative as a pillow snowman and we didn't have a cute little bunny but it sure was fun.

I can see why these productions are more entertaining for grandparents than they are for parents!
