Finally, Slide Worthy Weather!

Some of you know that we are filling in our swimming pool we have out back. It never got much sun and never got very warm. When the girls were younger, they didn't care and swam anyway, but the last several years the pool was nothing but a money vacuum. Plus I didn't want to have to constantly be worrying about little children wandering back there so thus began the two year process of filling it with dirt (it's not finished yet). I have secret plans for a new pool back there at a later date - but we'll keep it on the down low for now. I wanted to get something fun for the kids to play on, so Max and I got on the Internet and wallah! we found the perfect toy. It's been in the garage for weeks and every time the sun was shining the kids wanted to get it out. Well, last Friday the weather cooperated and the new "slide" was initiated. The weather wouldn't have been warm enough for me, but those grand kids didn't seem to mind. The "banzai" slide got mixed reactions, but basically I think it was a successful purchase, now if I can only figure out how to set it up without a huge crew for assistance....

Greg and Mandy were elected "slide" erectors - they both excel at reading and following directions. A skill which I am sadly lacking.
Mandy even had to climb to the top to get things "just right." Getting wet wasn't in her original plans, but sometimes things go awry.

The slide even came equipped with squirt cannons - just to make sure no one in the vicinity stays dry!

They were even amazingly cooperative when it came to being patient with each other on the climb up!
Some preferred to watch from a distance.....
Some preferred the small, less challenging slide...
Some opted for the traditional "feet first" approach...
Some liked to be squirted with water during their descent....

Some took a running start.....

While others leaped high in the air and almost gave their Mimi a heart attack at the thought of them flying off the contraption! Basically, a fun time was had by all. It's a good thing, because it has been chilly and rainy every day since Friday!

As a side note, I organize my pictures on my computer (if you can call it organized) by year and season. This is the first time that I have "playing in the snow" and "swimming" in the Spring of the same year. Only in Oklahoma...
