White Water = Woodward Style!

Okay, so maybe we're not quite on the level of White Water, but Woodward has a new pretty cool water park. I must admit, I was skeptical - I didn't really know what their plan for a "water park" in Woodward entailed, but it turned out really nice. I know I mentioned Sam invited me to go with them on his birthday and I reluctantly agreed (after a quick trip to Stage to see if there was a bathing suit that would give me a modicum of security for a public appearance). There was about 450 in attendance that day and it really didn't feel very crowded at all. We all had a lot of fun!

There is something for the entire family (except a diving board, sorry no board).

Ben made his Aunt Sally carry him around for awhile. She's a soft touch, I think we all are as far as Ben is concerned.
This is one of the smaller slides, but Max manages to flip and flop around on it anyway.

Sam had to pass a short swimming test to go down the big slides, and he did with flying colors. Here he is demonstrating his ability to swim under water which is how he passed the test.

In the middle area there is a huge bucket of water that periodically dumps gallons of water on unsuspecting (and suspecting) by standers. Here Max waits for it, waits for it...
Bam! Actually that is Sam under the deluge which is actually quite refreshing on a hot summer day.

The little bitty kid section was closed for resealing on this day and Mandy didn't think that Ben would enjoy himself. But as usual, kids like to make liars out of their parents and it didn't slow him down at all.

He has his own method for going down these slides and it was quite effective.

Even Mandy demonstrated a proficient sliding technique. There is a definite advantage to being the one who brings her camera every where, you don't have to be in any pictures! I had such a good time that I'm sure I will go again. Buy you might not recognize me, I'll be the one hiding behind my sunglasses and the biggest floppiest hat I can find...

Great pics. What a great time.I'm glad you posted these. I've been curious about the famous WW water park. Not bad at all! I admit I was skeptical too.
