Easter Weekend- Part 2...

As I mentioned before we did a great deal of celebrating last weekend. Saturday night we honored my wonderful parents by celebrating their 60 years together, and they dated for like four years before they married so they have been together a long time. I can't say enough about my parents. God truly blessed me, and my sister and brother, when he gave us to them to raise. They represent the best of their generation. They always put each other and their children ahead of themselves. When we were growing up, we always knew that we were the center of the universe, but they raised us to know that did not necessarily mean that the universe revolved around us. Their faith is amazing and they also passed that legacy on to their family. Not only were they incredible parents, they were the best grandparents ever, and now my grand children get to enjoy the "greats" as a vital part of their lives. We did a little presentation and watched some old and I mean old slides (I may have bragged about this little device that hooks on to my camera to transfer slides to digital). It was a special time!

The royalty for the day!

The greats were part of the program, each one telling the average gas prices for each decade of marriage - it went from 17 cents a gallon to $4.00 last year - whew!

The signs spelled out "We love you" just in case you can't tell :)

I just threw in these beautiful Easter pics from back in the day. Dad would set the timer and then we would all sit in great anticipation to see if the camera would actually flash or not. Good Times!

I particularly love the red gloves my sister used to accessorize - I really wanted to make sure you all knew that it wasn't me wearing the red gloves!

I was thinking the same thing as Dawn! It sounds like you are a little jealous of the red gloves!

I've always loved your parents. They are very special people and it is wonderful they have been married for so long.

On a sidenote...I love the red gloves and how big is that T.V.? That thing is huge!! I don't think I have a room big enough to hold such a massive piece of equipment.
